Researched Argument
the THird Major Assignment
I worked very hard to accomplish the purpose of this assignment. My research verifies my claim, and the presentation supports the topic. Pictures, videos, and quotes were used to persuade the audience in a visually appealing way. With this assignment, I got the opportunity to be both creative and analytical. I also learned a lot about proper research methods. Using the college library database made my research process so much easier. The information was reliable, relevant, and knowledgeable. Since the quality of my site relied heavily on the nature of my research, my site benefitted from resourceful information. I can use this database for future information gathering. I feel that I met all of the criteria for this project, even though I used a different genre (other than an essay) to display it. My writing process was very disorganized, but it worked out for the best. I researched, wrote, and designed my website all throughout the time I spent completing this project. My focus was centered on whichever idea stood out in my head at the time. I had an overall plan and format, but the execution was sporadic. When I felt it was time to revise, I showed my website to a few people. This process was effective because it allowed me use their critiques to correct grammar, add more content, and fix visual designs that didn't work. I used the class reading about rhetoric by Aristotle to incorporate different persuasion tactics into my argument. In addition, I applied the concepts of logical fallacies to keep myself from making bogus statements. My favorite part of this assignment was exploring and supporting an argument that is close to my heart. I enjoyed the freedom I had in sharing this important matter.
